Cannot Open Applications within MetaFrame XP

 

Symptoms

When you attempt to execute a command from the MetaFrame XP Applications Desktop, a Save As or Open With dialog box may appear, prompting you to choose a location to which to save the file.


Cause

This behavior can occur if Internet Explorer is configured not to cache encrypted pages to disk. The default is to cache encrypted pages to disk.


Note

bullet This can also occur if the Citrix ICA Client is not installed, or was corrupted after installation.


Resolution

To resolve the encrypted pages issue:

  1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Click to clear the Do not save encrypted pages to disk check box, and then click OK.

To resolve the ICA Web Client corruption:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Find the Citrix ICA Web Client, click to highlight, and then click the Change/Remove button.
  3. Click the Yes button to completely remove the Citrix ICA Web Client and all of its components.
  4. Click here to login and reinstall the ICA Web Client.

bullet If you did not find the ICA Web Client in the Add or Remove Programs window, please click the link above to download and install the client.
